She began taking singing lessons at the age of twelve and attended Margot H\u00f6pfner\u2019s renowned acting school from 1968 to 1971. Even for her first film role in <strong>&amp;quot;I&amp;#x27;d like to have my worries&amp;quot;<\/strong> In 1975, she received the <strong>Ernst Lubitsch Prize<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p>After a foray into the world of cabaret at D\u00fcsseldorf\u2019s Kom(m)\u00f6dchen, she then took on the role in 1983 that would change her life forever: in the German-language premiere of the internationally acclaimed musical <strong>&amp;quot;Cats&amp;quot;<\/strong> In Vienna, she took on the role of <strong>Grizabella.<\/strong> &amp;quot;Erinnerung&amp;quot; became her signature song and made Angelika Milster the number-one musical star in the German-speaking world. She landed her first solo <strong>TV show (\u201cMein Musicalhaus,\u201d 1985) <\/strong>and was awarded the Golden Europa and a Gold Record.<\/p>\r\n<p>People abroad took notice as well. For the <strong>European Tour<\/strong> Following the premiere of her song cycle \u201cSong &amp;amp; Dance\u201d in 1988, she was cast by Andrew Lloyd Webber in the role of Emma, and in 1991 she made a guest appearance with the \u201cKurt Weill Revue\u201d from the Theater des Westens in Berlin in <strong>Paris and Washington.<\/strong> She remained loyal to the Theater des Westens in the years that followed, playing leading roles there in, among others, <strong>&amp;quot;UFA-Revue&amp;quot; (1992), &amp;quot;Blue Jeans&amp;quot; (1994), &amp;quot;Hello Dolly&amp;quot; (1995)<\/strong> and <strong>&amp;quot;Gypsy&amp;quot; (1996)<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n<p>On television, Angelika Milster became a sought-after <strong>Actress in TV series<\/strong> such as \u201cDer Landarzt\u201d (ZDF), \u201cSalto Kommunale\u201d (ZDF), \u201cMama ist unm\u00f6glich\u201d (MDR), and \u201cK\u00f6rner &amp;amp; K\u00f6ter\u201d (SAT1), as well as in films such as \u201cDer K\u00f6nig von Dulsberg\u201d (1994, with G\u00f6tz George), \u201cClub Las Piranjas\u201d (1995, with Hape Kerkeling), and \u201cAll Because of Robert De Niro\u201d (1996, with G\u00f6tz Alsmann).<\/p>\r\n<p>Starting in 1994, Angelika Milster took on a number of <strong>CDs featuring pop hits<\/strong> . Right away, for her first album, *Ich liebe Dich*, she received the <strong>ECHO German Record Award<\/strong>. She received another ECHO nomination in 2000. A year later, she returned to the stage and appeared in the German premiere of the musical \u201cMozart!\u201d in Hamburg.<\/p>\r\n<p>A completely different musical direction followed in early 2002: For a series of <strong>Church Concerts<\/strong> Angelika Milster developed a completely new repertoire of classical and sacred songs. Both the audience and the press responded with equal enthusiasm, so this program has since become a regular feature of her annual concert performances.<\/p>\r\n<p>That same year, she appeared at the <strong>Crossover CD \u201cMilster.\u201d<\/strong> with a musical diversity unlike anything seen before: She performed songs from films and musicals, sang pop and Schlager, but also paid tribute to artists such as <strong>Elvis Presley, Queen<\/strong> and <strong>ABBA<\/strong> paid her respects and, in addition, with her <strong>Interpretations of Classics<\/strong> such as \u201cGranada\u201d and \u201cTorna a Surriento\u201d held some surprises. She continued to demonstrate her artistic versatility time and again in the years that followed. For example, she provided the voice in the German-dubbed version of the <strong>The Hollywood movie \u201cShrek 2<\/strong>\u00a0She played the role of the Fairy Godmother, took on the title role in \u201cLysistrata\u201d at the Antikenfestspiele in Trier, and, together with actor Max Kr\u00fcckl, shed light on the ills of today\u2019s society in the program \u201cAnsichtssache\u201d at the Theater der W\u00fchlm\u00e4use in Berlin.<\/p>\r\n<p>After a <strong>Christmas CD (\u201cFrom the Bottom of My Heart\u201d)<\/strong> and another\u00a0<strong>Crossover Album (\u201cThrough the Eyes of Love\u201d)<\/strong> In 2006, she went on tour with <strong>&amp;quot;The Folk Music Surprise Festival&amp;quot;<\/strong> in more than 50 cities and was able to <strong>RTL comedy series \u201cAngie\u201d<\/strong> once again shine with the comedic side of her acting talent.<\/p>\r\n<p>In response to requests from many fans, she released another CD featuring schlager-style songs in the spring of 2008 <strong>(&amp;quot;I say yes&amp;quot;)<\/strong>. As a live performer, Angelika Milster remains one of the most sought-after artists in the country. From the 2006 New Year\u2019s Eve Gala with the WDR Radio Orchestra to the 2008 New Year\u2019s Concert with the SWR Big Band, from her Christmas program <strong>&amp;quot;Swinging Christmas&amp;quot;<\/strong> until the gala concert <strong>&amp;quot;Diva Maxima&amp;quot;<\/strong>, which she performed in Dresden in August 2008 alongside Montserrat Caball\u00e9, Milva, and the Babelsberg Film Orchestra, she won over audiences everywhere with her wide-ranging repertoire. She returned to musical theater in May 2009 with the solo program<strong> &amp;quot;I am who I am&amp;quot;<\/strong> back, which is located in Essen <strong>Grillo Theater<\/strong> celebrated its acclaimed premiere, and that same year it was staged at Berlin&amp;#x27;s Renaissance Theater in the song drama <strong>&amp;quot;Forever Young&amp;quot;<\/strong> to experience. The production won the <strong>Audience Award from the Berlin Theater Club<\/strong> Excellent.<\/p>\r\n<p>In addition to her theatre work, Angelika Milster expanded her church concert tours in the following years. Her programmes <b>\u201cBegegnungen\u201d<\/b> and <b>\u201cVon ganzem Herzen\u201d<\/b> were attended by enthusiastic audiences at well over 500 concerts throughout Germany. In 2013, another CD was released under the title <b>\u201cDu hast mir Gl\u00fcck gebracht\u201d<\/b>, with which Angelika Milster appeared as a guest on <b>\u201cWillkommen bei Carmen Nebel\u201d<\/b> and <b>ZDF-Fernsehgarten<\/b>, among others.<\/p>\r\n<p>From autumn 2016, Angelika Milster could be seen in the title role of the world premiere musical <b>\u201cDoris Day &#8211; Day by Day\u201d<\/b> at the <b>Schlossparktheater in Berlin<\/b>. More than thirty performances took place to sold-out houses. In January 2017, the premiere of <b>\u201cWunschkinder\u201d at Berlin\u2019s Renaissance-Theater<\/b> followed, where she also appeared in the production <b>\u201cEwig jung\u201d<\/b>.<\/p>\r\n<p>In summer 2017, Angelika Milster launched her new solo concert programme <b>\u201cMilster singt Musical\u201d<\/b> with four successful preview concerts in Austria. Further individual concerts of this programme followed in 2017\/18, and in autumn 2018 there was a major Germany tour with 14 dates.<\/p>\r\n<p>In the meantime, <b>\u201cDoris Day \u2013 Day by Day\u201d<\/b> went on tour throughout Germany, and from 24 September 2017 Angelika Milster once again took on a major challenge that became another highlight for the singer and actress: the role of \u201cNorma Desmond\u201d in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber\u2019s <b>\u201cSunset Boulevard\u201d<\/b> at Theater Altenburg Gera. Summer 2018 was devoted to <b>\u201cIm wei\u00dfen R\u00f6ssl\u201d<\/b> \u2014 Angelika Milster delighted audiences at the <b>Renaissance-Theater Berlin<\/b>. From September 2018, she portrayed <b>\u201cTangolita\u201d<\/b> in Paul Abraham\u2019s operetta <b>\u201cBall im Savoy\u201d<\/b> at Theater L\u00fcbeck. At the end of the year, the music-theatre production <b>\u201cIm Wechselspiel der Liebe\u201d<\/b>, based on a novel by <b>Rosamunde Pilcher<\/b> (book and lyrics by Claus Beling and music by Richard Blackford), premiered in Austria and Germany.<\/p>\r\n<p>The song drama <b>\u201cEwig jung\u201d<\/b> celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019 on the stage of Berlin\u2019s Renaissance-Theater. Angelika Milster has been part of the ensemble, unchanged since the premiere. The production continues to appear on the traditional theatre\u2019s programme from time to time.<\/p>\r\n<p>In November 2021, Angelika Milster appeared as the \u201cEgg\u201d in the musical satire <b>\u201cDer Eierwurf von Halle\u201d<\/b>, produced by Jan B\u00f6hmermann, on ZDF Magazin Royale.<\/p>\r\n<p>In autumn 2021 and spring 2022, a <b>\u201cgala concert tour\u201d<\/b> took place with Angelika Milster and the Vogtland Philharmonie. The programme included songs from musicals, chansons and classical music, as well as modern pop songs.<\/p>\r\n<p>In October 2021, <b>\u201cBerlin Skandal\u00f6s\u201d<\/b> at Theater Dortmund marked another acclaimed premiere with Angelika Milster appearing as the Diva. The theatre described <b>\u201cBerlin Skandal\u00f6s\u201d<\/b> as the \u201cexciting and fast-paced prelude\u201d to its Dortmund production of <b>\u201cCabaret\u201d<\/b>, which was to be seen at the same venue from autumn 2022. In this production, Angelika Milster portrays \u201cFr\u00e4ulein Schneider\u201d.<\/p>\r\n<p>From autumn 2022, the revival of the music-theatre production <b>\u201cIm Wechselspiel der Liebe\u201d<\/b>, based on a novel by <b>Rosamunde Pilcher<\/b>, was scheduled at the Kom\u00f6die im Bayerischen Hof.<\/p>\r\n<p>In summer 2022, filming was completed for a four-part series sequel to the cult film <b>\u201cClub Las Piranjas\u201d<\/b>. As in the film, Angelika Milster once again appears alongside Hape Kerkeling. The series was first scheduled to be shown on RTL+ from 19 October 2023 and later on RTL.<\/p>\r\n<p>The solo concert programme <b>\u201cMilster singt Musical\u201d<\/b> will continue in autumn 2023, and a new church concert programme will premiere in winter 2023 under the title <b>\u201cWintermomente\u201d<\/b>.<\/p>\r\n<p>In October 2022, Angelika Milster received the <b>German Musical Theater Honorary Award<\/b>. According to the German Musical Academy, the award honours an outstanding artist who has successfully championed German-language musical theatre and contributed greatly to the popularity of musical productions.<\/p>\r\n<p>At the Komische Oper Berlin, Angelika Milster takes on the role of restaurant owner Jacqueline in the successful musical <b>La Cage aux Folles &#8211; Ein K\u00e4fig voller Narren<\/b> in spring 2024. In 1968, he received his first engagement at the <b>Zurich Opera House<\/b>. Alongside his work as a conductor, he became active as a composer and arranger. With his appointment as musical director at the <b>playhouses in Zurich and Basel<\/b>, he established his passion for film and theatre music.<\/p>\r\n<p>His career was repeatedly closely connected with some of the most renowned names in musical life; he worked with directors such as <b>Hans Hollmann, Hans Neuenfels, Arie Zinger, Prof. Sellner, Leopold Lindberg<\/b> and many others. He produced, composed and conducted for <b>BMG Ariola, Polydor, Universal, EMI, CBS and Sony Music<\/b>, can look back on more than 80 productions at the <b>Schauspielhaus Z\u00fcrich<\/b>, <b>Schauspielhaus D\u00fcsseldorf, Schillertheater Berlin, Staatstheater Bonn<\/b> and the <b>Basel theatres<\/b>, and wrote the music for two Israeli ballet productions. In 1980, Andr\u00e9 Bauer produced the music for <b>\u201cThe Last Days of Mankind\u201d<\/b> for the Vienna Festival \/ ORF (directed by Hans Hollmann). This marked his first encounter with Peter Weck. In 1982, <b>Peter Weck<\/b> was appointed artistic director of Theater an der Wien, and Andr\u00e9 Bauer became the theatre\u2019s musical director and chief conductor. There he conducted the acclaimed German-language premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber\u2019s musical <b>\u201cCats\u201d<\/b> and produced the gold- and platinum-certified recording of the stage success.<\/p>\r\n<p>In 1985, on the occasion of his first Japan tour, Andr\u00e9 Bauer brought together international pop and jazz musicians with members of the <b>Tokyo Symphony Orchestra<\/b>. The album <b>\u201cMidnight Cruise\u201d<\/b>, produced by Andr\u00e9 Bauer, presented an inspiring fusion of jazz and classical elements \u2014 a musical direction that would continue to captivate the successful musician: <b>crossover<\/b>. In 1987, Andr\u00e9 Bauer left the <b>Theater an der Wien<\/b> and worked freelance as a composer, conductor and producer. For more than 90 films and television series, including <b>\u201cTatort\u201d (ARD), \u201cEin Fall f\u00fcr Zwei\u201d (ZDF), \u201cEin Bayer auf R\u00fcgen\u201d<\/b> (33 episodes, SAT.1), <b>\u201cThe Visit\u201d<\/b> (international production with Maria Schell), and many others. Angelika Milster and Andr\u00e9 Bauer have been working together artistically since 1983. The singer\u2019s major successes, such as the albums <b>\u201cMeisterst\u00fccke\u201d, \u201cMILSTER.\u201d, \u201cIch sage ja\u201d<\/b>, <b>\u201cMit den Augen der Liebe\u201d<\/b> and <b>\u201cDu hast mir Gl\u00fcck gebracht\u201d<\/b>, as well as countless concert programmes, were produced and musically directed by him.
