The musical \u201cSunset Boulevard\u201d<\/strong> will also be performed at the Th\u00fcringer Landestheater in Gera and Altenburg during the 2018\/2019 theatre season. Angelika Milster<\/strong> will once again be playing the leading role of the aging silent movie diva Norma Desmond. Advance ticket sales for the new theatre season at the Landestheater Th\u00fcringen began with an open day on 1st May 2018.<\/p>\n

Angelika Milster<\/strong> celebrated a highly acclaimed premiere as Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical \u201cSunset Boulevard\u201d<\/strong> at the Landestheater Th\u00fcringen during the current theatre season. The erstwhile silent movie diva lives alone with her butler, almost forgotten by the public, in a majestic villa. Then the young and moderately successful screenwriter Joe Gillis turns up and breaks her out of her isolation. She entrusts him with drafting her scripts, with which she plans a comeback. He gets involved in the deal, but at the same time steals his best friend\u2019s girlfriend. Norma finds out about the double dealing and experiences a bitter disappointment with her comeback plans as well.<\/p>\n

The Leipziger Volkszeitung<\/u><\/strong><\/a> wrote enthusiastically after her premiere in Altenburg: \u201cMilster<\/strong> subtly interprets the role of a forgotten, aging Hollywood diva, who cannot bear to see her fame decline. \u2026 With her lyrically beautiful voice, she makes every one of her songs a hit and achieves her vocal and dramatic masterpiece with the title \u201cThe Greatest Star of All\u201d. Her superb emotionality is captivating here. \u2026 She is completely absorbed in this game and alternates excellently between the expansive facial play and gestures of a silent movie star and the powerful emotions of a broken woman\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Th\u00fcringer Allgemeine<\/u><\/strong><\/a> asserted after her premiere in Gera: \u201cAngelika Milster<\/strong> is completely in her element in this \u201cSunset Boulevard\u201d<\/strong>. The singer shines and sparkles; she wins the hearts of the audience right from the very first great song. She is certain to receive the loudest and longest applause and at the end there are standing ovations\u201d. Continuing \u201ca star plays a star, a diva a diva, seductive, magical and human\u201d.<\/p>\n
